November 29, 2017 - U.S. Navy Sailors man the rails aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and prepare to render honors to the USS Arizona Memorial as the ship departs Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in the Pacific Ocean. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific.  November 29, 2017 - Members of the AC-130U Gunship aircrew known as "Spooky 43" received the Mackay Trophy in Arlington, VA for the most meritorious U.S. Air Force flight in 2016 ... providing close air support and armed reconnaissance for a 55-man combined American and Afghan special operations team conducting a raid to interdict insurgent command and control nodes, senior leadership, and their networks. November 26, 2017 - A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach medevacs a 26-year-old man from a 27-foot dive boat, Reel Cowboy, 31 miles west of Naples, Florida. December 4, 2017 - Soldiers from 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), row a zodiac across American Lake to participate in an endurance challenge for Menton week. Menton week celebrates the 1st Special Forces Group heritage, as its predecessor was the First Special Service Force, which disbanded in Menton, France at the end of World War II on Dec. 5, 1944. November 21, 2017 - The Tomb of Remembrance in Section 72 of Arlington National Cemetery is exclusively for the placement of portions of cremated remains of deceased active duty members of the Armed Forces eligible for interment. The Tomb of Remembrance serves as an alternative to Department of Defense directed retirement at sea. This amazingly talented family show grabs the audience from the start ... never letting go ... with a variety of singing, dancing, humor, and more. And during November and December, the Bretts include an inspiring mini-play paying tribute to returning troops during the Christmas season after deployment in World War II ... December 20, 2017 - Sailors assigned to the Virginia-class, fast-attack submarine, USS Colorado (SSN 788), participate in the Toys for Tots charity event by delivering toys and cash donations to the Thames River Detachment, Marine Corps League. Members of Colorado's First Class Petty Officer Association(FCPOA) came up with the idea to promote the charity during Colorado's recent underway. The crew returned to their home port with just a few days left to shop and donate before Toys for Tots' delivery deadline for this year's Christmas holiday. December 24, 2017 - The Task Force Marauder Unit Ministry Team conducted a candlelight service for U.S. service members deployed to Afghanistan on Christmas Eve. Task Force Marauder consists of Soldiers from South Carolina National Guard, Illinois National Guard, Iowa National Guard, as well as active duty component and provides aviation capabilities with AH64 Apaches, UH60 Black Hawks, CH47 Chinooks, and medevac assets in Afghanistan under the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade while deployed.
