U.S. Marine Corps
Staff Sgt. Andrew C. Seif, a critical skills operator with
2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps Forces,
Special Operations Command, is awarded the Silver Star Medal by Maj.
Gen. Joseph L. Osterman during a ceremony at Stone Bay aboard Marine
Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC on March 6, 2015 for his actions against the
enemy in Badghis Province, Afghanistan.
Note: Marine Staff Sgt. Andrew C. Seif died with six
other Marines in a Black Hawk helicopter crash near Eglin, Florida on
March 10, 2015 four days after receiving his Silver Star medal. He is
buried in Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery.
