Cutter Bertholf Crew's Homeport Return To Loved Ones
December 23, 2019 - The crew of the
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750) returns to their
homeport in Alameda, California, where waiting loved ones
greet them.
The Bertholf crew returns following
an eighty-two day counter-narcotics patrol that resulted in
the seizure of more than 18,000 pounds of cocaine worth $312
million. The seizure involved seven separate suspected drug
smuggling vessel interdictions and disruptions by Bertholf
and four other Coast Guard cutter crews, who patrolled
international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean off the
coasts of Mexico, Central and South America between October
and November.
