Buglers with the U.S. Army
Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) band proudly perform
a moving rendition of Taps for U.S. troops who made the
ultimate sacrifice since our nation's fight for independence
... and are honored every Memorial Day that is observed on
the last Monday of May.
It is also a reminder about the
National Moment of Remembrance that was established by
Congress, asking Americans wherever they are at 3 p.m., local time,
on Memorial Day to pause in an act of national unity (duration: one
minute) ... The National Moment of Remembrance does not replace
traditional Memorial Day events; rather it is an act of national
unity in which all Americans, alone or with family and friends,
honor those who died for our freedom. It will help to reclaim
Memorial Day as the sacred and noble holiday it was meant to be.
The United States Army Training and
Doctrine Command is a major command of the United States Army
headquartered at Fort Eustis, Virginia. It is charged with
overseeing training of Army forces and the development of
operational doctrine.
