Pilots and crew chiefs assigned to Charlie Company, 1/207th
Aviation Regiment, Hawaii National Guard, conduct an aerial
survey of the progress of lava covering parts of the Kilauea
region near Hilo, Hawaii on June 3, 2018 ... starting
shortly before nightfall with many spectacular visual
displays contrasting against the darkness ... and sadly the
destruction caused to communities by the respective lava
flow.
The crew is part of Joint Task Force 5-0 which
is the military organization providing support to state and
local disaster response efforts to the on-going eruptions.
