April 2009 -- "My son, Artie, as he tries to absorb the
overwhelming number of gravesite that he has just seen. This
is his first visit here and he could not believe that there
were so many people who had died fighting for our freedoms.
When he realized that several of his relatives had served in
various branches of the military it hit him even harder to
think that one of those graves could have held a relative if
the circumstances had been different. Being here and seeing
this first hand has given him a new perspective and
appreciation for all military men and women. His school is
in the same town as a military base and he often comes
across army personnel. In the past he couldn't understand
why I always said Thank You when I saw them and now that he
has seen the many graves, he too has begun to thank them."
