Flag Day June 14
Flag Day, also called National Flag Day, honors Old Glory, the national flag of the United States of America that is observed annually on June 14. The holiday commemorates the Second Continental Congress’ adoption of the first U.S. national flag on June 14, 1777. Today's Old Glory features the same 13 red and white stripes, as the original 1777 one with noticeable difference in the number and arrangement of stars that has changed as the number of states has increased over the centuries.
