USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) Fires Mark 45 August 7, 2026
July 31, 2026 - U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) fires a Mark 45 5-inch gun during a live-fire training exercise on the forecastle, while underway in the Indian Ocean. John Paul Jones is forward-deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
