USCGC Tampa Returns From 74-Day Drug Patrol April 24, 2026
April 18, 2026 - U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Tampa (WMEC 902) arrives at the Base Portsmouth pier in Virginia following a 74-day counter-drug patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean with crewmembers' loved ones happily waiting on the pier. Tampa's crew worked alongside additional Coast Guard units and an embarked Coast Guard Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron aviation detachment that resulted in the interdiction of nearly $45 million in illicit narcotics.
