November 6, 2025 - Scenes of the Washington Monument, within the National Mall and Memorial Parks, reflecting in the Tidal Basin under late afternoon light in Washington, D.C. The monument, a 555-foot tall obelisk, honors George Washington, the nation’s first president and commander of the Continental Army. For more than 200 years, the National Mall and Memorial Parks has symbolized our nation and its democratic values, which have inspired the world. It protects the National Mall, the great swath of over 1,000 green space acres in the middle of Washington, D.C. along with the iconic monuments and memorials.
