Grotto Geyser Sunrise Beauty August 8, 2025
Captivating Yellowstone National Park wintry sunrise view of the popular performer Grotto Geyser on the bank of the Firehole River with a skier on the boardwalk. Grotto Geyser splashes 15 feet from 1.5 hours to a day. The weirdly shaped cone may have resulted from siliceous sinter covering trees. The riverside geyser is one of the most picturesque and predictable geysers in the park. On March 1, 1872, Yellowstone became the first national park for all to enjoy the unique hydrothermal and geologic wonders. People from around the world have been drawn to Yellowstone to witness these wonders for themselves. Now, millions of people come to Yellowstone each year to make lifelong memories of watching erupting geysers, roaming wildlife, and the artistry of thermophiles.
