Sea Hawk Transits Past USS Stout December 14, 2024 December 8, 2024 - A U.S. Navy MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, attached to the "Dragonslayers" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 11, transits past the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55) during a replenishment-at-sea in the Mediterranean Sea. USS Stout is deployed with the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) during a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations supporting U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa to defend U.S., Allied and partner interests. U.S Navy guided missile destroyers are warships that provide multi-mission offensive and defensive capabilities. The DDG 51- and DDG 1000-class destroyers are capable of conducting Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW). Destroyers can operate independently or as part of Carrier Strike Groups, Surface Action Groups, and Expeditionary Strike Groups.
