USCG FRC Florence Finch Commissioning November 5, 2024 October 24, 2024 - Crew members from U.S. Coast Guard Fast Response Cutter (FRC) Florence Finch (WPC 1157) stand at attention during its commissioning ceremony while moored at U.S. Coast Guard Base Seattle. The Sentinel-class fast response cutter (FRC) is designed for multiple missions, including drug and migrant interdiction; ports, waterways and coastal security; fishery patrols; search and rescue; and national defense. The cutter's namesake, Florence Ebersole Smith Finch, was a Filipino-American and a member of the World War II resistance against the Japanese occupation of the Philippines.
