Heart Spring In Yellowstone October 13, 2024 Eye-catching nature scene of Heart Spring in the Upper Geyser Basin with Castle Geyser and bison in the background of Yellowstone National Park. Heart Spring is a deep, clear, blue pool with colorful orange and yellow thermophiles in the outwash channel. Hard sinter lines the edge of the pool just at the ground surface. It is 7-1/2 feet by 10 feet at the surface and 15 feet deep with an average temperate of 184.8°F. On March 1, 1872, Yellowstone became the first national park for all to enjoy the unique hydrothermal and geologic wonders. People from around the world have been drawn to Yellowstone to witness these wonders for themselves. Now, millions of people come to Yellowstone each year to make lifelong memories of watching erupting geysers, roaming wildlife, and the artistry of thermophiles.
