Fireball On USS Theodore Roosevelt Flight Deck October 7, 2024
October 2, 2024 - Fireball, the mascot of the "Wolf Pack" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 75 sits on the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) at an undisclosed location in the Pacific Ocean. The Wolf Pack squadron flies the MH-60R Seahawk, an aircraft that elevates tactical maritime mission capability to a new level by far surpassing previous fleet capability. The MH-60R is designed to operate from littoral combat ships, frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and aircraft carriers. Theodore Roosevelt, flagship of Carrier Strike Group 9, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations that involves working together with allies and partners to advance freedom of navigation, the rule of law, and other principles that underpin security for the Indo-Pacific region.
