Marine Fires GAU-17 Minigun On Venom October 5, 2024
September 30, 2024 - U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Ryan Kidd, a UH-1Y Venom crew chief assigned to Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One, fires a GAU-17 minigun during an aerial gunnery refinement exercise as part of Weapons and Tactics Instructor course 1-25 near Chocolate Mountains, California. Weapons and Tactics Instructor course is a seven-week training event hosted by MAWTS-1 which emphasizes operational integration of the six functions of Marine aviation in support of the Marine Air Ground Task Force, Joint and Coalition Forces.
