Big Bend Window View September 28, 2024 A close-up and informational trail sign scenic view of stunning geological nature from the easy, relaxing Window View trail that circles a low hill with excellent views of the mountain peaks surrounding the Chisos Basin with a broader rugged look beyond to the horizon ... as the trail slopes gently downward to the end of its loop before returning back up to the start near the Chisos Mountains Lodge and Chisos Basin Visitor Center. From an elevation of less than 1,800 feet along the Rio Grande to nearly 8,000 feet in the Chisos Mountains, the Big Bend National Park (located in Southwest Texas) includes massive canyons, vast desert expanses, forested mountains, and the ever-changing Rio Grande River. Visitors enjoy scenic vistas, diverse wildlife, outdoor adventure, historic sites, dark skies, and border culture.
