Breaking The Silence August 7, 2024 November 10, 2023 - The pride inspiring, "Breaking The Silence", play performed by College of the Ozarks' talented students ... presents several heart grabbing true stories of the way American troops during the Vietnam War were treated as prisoners. Then followed by the disrespect they endured by many fellow Americans when they returned home from Vietnam. Hopefully, this play helps younger generations to proudly recognize the sacrifices of their grandparents / great grandparents and the disillusionment of anti-American philosophy which pervaded our beloved USA! Americans can never do enough to thank the veterans of this war ... other than tell their stories of impressive bravery, honor, and valor by Breaking the Silence. This play is based on the book Vietnam 101 by Dr. Jerry C. Davis, Chancellor of College of the Ozarks and adapted for the stage by Mark Young, Professor of Theatre, M.F.A.
