WWII Vets Near USAF 'Thunderbirds' F-16C

April 4, 2024

March 30, 2024 - An inspiring scene of four "greatest generation" World War II veterans (see below) near a F-16C Fighting Falcon assigned to the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron "Thunderbirds" during Tampa Bay AirFest 2024 at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

World War II Veterans (Left to Right)

• U.S. Navy veteran Vernon Cummings served in World War II

• U.S. Army Air Corps Daniel Keel served as a pilot, navigator and bombardier in World War II ... and is one of only five Tuskegee Airmen to receive a triple Airman rating.

• U.S. Marine Corps veteran O’Neil Ducharme served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War.

• U.S. Marine Corps veteran Robert Bouley served as a radar operator and heavy AA Gun crewman on the USS Texas during invasions of North Africa, the Battle of Normandy and the invasion of Southern France in World War II.

Tampa Bay AirFest was a free event for the public and featured a variety of military and civilian flight performances aimed at inspiring the next generation of military aviators.
