Denali National Park and Preserve, a 6 million acre national park, in Alaska is home to Denali Mountain (also known as Mount McKinley, its former official name). Denali, North America’s tallest peak at 20,310 feet, is a mecca that enchants climbers, pack-rafters, skiers, dog mushers and athletes seeking to test themselves against the raw, unchecked power of a truly wild landscape. Trails in the park are near the park road, and mainly near the park entrance. Denali also offers visitors a rare opportunity to hike off trail in a wild landscape.
