USCGC Polar Star Transits Elliott Bay November 19, 2023
November 15, 2023 - U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star (WAGB 10) transits across Elliott Bay after departing Base Seattle for a scheduled assist with icebreaking operations near Antarctica in the coming months in support of Operation Deep Freeze. Operation Deep Freeze (OpDFrz or ODF) is codename for a series of United States joint military missions to resupply the nation's Antarctic stations in support of the National Science Foundation.
