USCG ATN Boat Crew Starts Work Aids August 12, 2023 August 2, 2023 - The Trailerable Aids to Navigation (ATN) Boat crew from U.S. Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Hampton Roads heads out on Elizabeth River to work aids to navigation discrepancies in the vicinity of Western Branch, Virginia. The ANTs area of responsibility extends up to Richmond, Virginia on the James River and the most southern location is Munden Point Park on the border of North Carolina and Virginia. The objective of Sector Hampton Roads' Waterways Management Division is to safeguard persons, facilities, vessels, the marine environment, and the marine transportation system. The Division consists of one main office located in the Norfolk Federal Building and three U.S. Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Teams: Chincoteague, Milford Haven, and Hampton Roads.
