Lake Of Glass Scenic Beauty July 19, 2023
A beautiful view of Lake of Glass and the horizon beyond its 10,808 feet location on top of a shelf with more unbelievable views from its waterfall that is a segmented cascade spilling into a creek that soon becomes Timberline Falls. Glass Lake is located 4.15 miles from Glacier Gorge Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. The lake sits just above Timberline Falls in a deep valley capped by Taylor Glacier, Taylor Peak (13,153'), Powell Peak (13,208') and The Sharkstooth (12,630'). Rocky Mountain National Park includes some of the highest mountains in the continental United States. The top third of the park encompasses the alpine tundra, a windswept land above the trees. Landscapes on either side of the Continental Divide feature alpine lakes, forested valleys and a wide range of plants and animals. Iconic summer thunderstorms and persistent winter winds are among the forces that continue to shape this majestic landscape.
