Delta IV Rocket Launch With Recon Satellite October 8, 2022
September 24, 2002 - Team Vandenberg launched a National Reconnaissance Office satellite (NROL-91) aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket from Vandenberg's Space Launch Complex-6. The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is an agency of the United States Department of Defense which designs, builds, launches, and operates the reconnaissance satellites of the U.S. federal government, and provides satellite intelligence to several government agencies. NRO is committed to protecting the security of the United States, its citizens and its allies through unparalleled capabilities in space-based intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
