Diamond Peak Scenic Overlook May 17, 2022
A scenic view from Diamond Peak (7,968 feet) with one of its prominent rock outcrops overlooking the hills below carpeted with nature's green to the horizon. Diamond Peak, located in Lassen Volcanic National Park, is named for the quartz crystals trapped in its andesite rock. Lassen Volcanic National Park is home to steaming fumaroles, meadows freckled with wildflowers, clear mountain lakes, and numerous volcanoes.
