Marine Launches Drone From AAV January 28, 2022
January 25, 2022 - U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Wilfredo Hernandez, an assault amphibious vehicle (AAV) crewman, with 2d Assault Amphibian Battalion (2d AABn), 2d Marine Division, launches an RQ-20 Puma drone from an AAV with a fellow Marine observing during a field exercise on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. 2d AABn tested the capability of an AAV and a light armored vehicle with remote weapon systems as a suitable land-based platform for mobile reconnaissance and scouting.
