Sunrise Autumn Colors With Pink January 14, 2022
An amazing sunrise Autumn scene of nature colors with a pink quartzite cliff's many shades of colors at Pipestone National Monument in Minnesota that occurs every September and October. For countless generations, American Indians have quarried the red pipestone found at what is now the Pipestone National Monument. These grounds are sacred to many people because the pipestone quarried here is carved into pipes used for prayer. Many believe that the pipe's smoke carries one's prayer to the Great Spirit. The traditions of quarrying and pipe making continue here today with 56 active quarries. View active quarry pits, walk the 3/4-mile Circle Trail and see historical markers, quartzite rock formations, tall grass prairie, and Winnewissa Falls.
