Denali Under Blue Sky Reflection December 1, 2021 A beautiful scenic view of Wonder Lake reflecting the snow covered 20,310 foot Denali, North America's tallest mountain, and other mountains among its range under a clear blue sky. Wonder Lake, often classified as a kettle lake, is one of the largest lakes in all of Denali National Park. On a clear day, it acts as a reflection pool for Denali. Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska is home to Denali Mountain (also known as Mount McKinley, its former official name), North America’s tallest peak at 20,310 feet, has been a mecca for mountaineering and adventuring for more than a century. Today, the 6 million acre park continues to enchant climbers, pack-rafters, skiers, dog mushers and athletes seeking to test themselves against the raw, unchecked power of a truly wild landscape. Trails in the park are near the park road, and mainly near the park entrance. However, Denali offers visitors a rare opportunity to hike off trail in a wild landscape.
