Korean War Veterans Memorial July 28, 2021 The Korean War Veterans Memorial was dedicated in 1995 and is located at the National Mall and Memorial Parks in Washington, D.C. Its Wall of Remembrance and 19 stainless steel statues commemorate the sacrifices of the millions of Americans (36,568 killed/missing and 103,284 wounded) and allied partners (1,217,000 killed/missing and 429,000 wounded) who fought during the Korean War from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953. For more than 200 years, the National Mall and Memorial Parks has symbolized our nation and its democratic values, which have inspired the world. It protects the National Mall, the great swath of over 1,000 green space acres in the middle of our capital city (Washington, D.C.) along with the iconic monuments and memorials.
