Veterans, Nurse Receive COVID-19 Vaccine December 26, 2020
December 22, 2020 - Navy Veteran William German (95), Marine Corps Veteran Danny James, Sr., and Navy Veteran Joseph Bassler at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System Community Living Center in Bay Pines, Florida receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from a nurse, who also received it. Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is also one of 113 VA Medical Centers across the country to receive the first limited supply of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Sites were identified based on need for the vaccine according to CDC’s 1A prioritization and capacity to store the vaccine at -20 degrees Celsius.
