Medical Soldiers Refine Skills For EFMB Test

U.S. Army Medical Soldiers from units throughout Europe refine their skills in the 2020 U.S. Army Europe Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB) at Baumholder Local Training Area in Germany during September 2020 for the upcoming testing phase of EFMB. The training involves a variety of situations including ... responding to simulated vehicle accidents; treating a simulated spine injury; preparing a simulated patient for a medevac; and, evacuating a simulated casualty .
One hundred and thirty soldiers from throughout Europe attempted to earn one of the most difficult and prestigious Army special skill badges which has a fiscal passing rate below 20%.
In order to mitigate the spread of Covid-19, while training and testing to standard, competitors were required to have a negative Covid-19 test prior to reporting and outside contact has been limited, mannequins are being used when possible, and all equipment is being cleaned between candidates for the duration of the training.
