October 20, 2016 - Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion emerge from the surf after dropping from a CH-53E Super Stallion and swimming ashore as part of a scout swimmer fin insertion during a helocasting exercise at Camp Lejeune, NC. October 30, 2016 - U.S. Navy Divers assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 3 and Mobile Dive and Salvage Company 3-1 prepare to tow a test capsule known as boilerplate-testing article, belonging to NASA's Orion program, to the amphibious transport dock USS San Diego (LPD 22) in the Pacific Ocean. October 25, 2016 - Marines from Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, complete the presentation of the National Colors at game one of the 2016 World Series at Progressive Field in Cleveland. Just before the ceremony, announcer Bob Tyek gave credit to the Marine Corps Reserve and its 100 years of faithful service. November 7, 2016 - In celebration of his 100th birthday, Naval Aviator, Cmdr. Jeffrey Reynolds, executive officer, Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, presented a USS SAN ANTONIO (LPD 17) command ball cap to WWII Naval Aviator, Lt. Glen Shean during an Alamo Honor Flight Breakfast held at Denny's. Shean, a Boerne resident and native of Cordell, Okla., served in the Navy as a TBF Avenger pilot from May 7, 1942 thru Oct. 1, 1946 aboard the USS CARD (CVE-11), a Bogue-class escort aircraft carrier. November 17, 2016 - A Paratrooper assigned to U.S. Army Able Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, fires a Javelin anti-tank missile during team leader training at Tapa Training Area, Estonia. The platoon-level, live-fire exercise sought to affirm each team leader’s capacity to tackle the complexities of a company-level Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise. An upcoming CALFEX will serve as the culminating event for the “Sky Soldiers” of 173rd Airborne Brigade on a training rotation in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a U.S. led effort in Eastern Europe that demonstrates U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region. The 173rd Airborne Brigade, based in Vicenza, Italy, is the Army Contingency Response Force in Europe, and is capable of projecting forces to conduct a full range of military operations across the United States European, Central and Africa Command areas of responsibility within 18 hours. November 21, 2016 - Senior Chief (SW/AW) Steven Hamilton, from Swansboro, North Carolina, reunites with his loved one during USS Ronald Reagan's (CVN 76) return to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka. Ronald Reagan participated in exercises Valiant Shield, Invincible Spirit and Keen Sword, designed to enhance joint military operations with partner nations throughout the region. November 23, 2016 - Crew members from the St. Petersburg, Florida Fire Department evaluate the fishermen who were rescued by U.S. Coast Guard from a sunken fishing vessel approximately 35 miles southwest of Cape San Blas, Florida, Wednesday. The fishermen were flown to Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater by an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew where they met with EMS, who determined they were injury free.
