AMFREVILLE, France (June 4, 2016) - A memorial ceremony for the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division was conducted as part of the 72nd D-Day commemorations. The Paratrooper in the statue represents Pvt. Joe Gandara, a 2nd Squadron, 507th PIR Paratrooper during World War II who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor March 18, 2014, for single-handedly destroying three enemy machine guns while taking devastating fire before he was fatally wounded. June 14, 2016 - An MH-60S Sea Hawk assigned to the "Golden Falcons" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12 approaches the flight deck of the Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The MH-60S Sea Hawk is used for a variety of tasks including anti-surface warfare, combat search and rescue, drug interdiction, and anti-piracy operations. TAPA, Estonia (June 19, 2016 ) - U.S. Army Pvt. Joseph Morales, a cavalry scout assigned to Pale Horse Troop, 4th Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment fires a Javelin Anti-Tank Missile down range as his team watches during Saber Strike 16. Saber Strike is a long-standing U.S. Army Europe-led cooperative training exercise designed to improve joint interoperability through a range of missions that prepare the 13 participating nations to support multinational contingency operations.
