MOBILE, Ala. - Lt. J.G. Shay Williams, of Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, carries a small child from the Superdome in New Orleans into a rescue helicopter today.

 The Coast Guard continues to rescue survivors of Hurricane Katrina and transport them to safer areas.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt.Corella looks for stranded New Orleans, La., residents during a search and rescue mission on Sept. 4, 2005. Corella is an HH-60 Gunner with the 55th Rescue Squadron from Nellis AFB, Nevada. Numerous Air Force search and rescue crews are flying twenty-four hour operations rescuing residents of New Orleans that have been stranded in their homes due to flooding following Hurricane Katrina.
