"Angels in White” (The Nurses' Song) celebrates nurses and is dedicated to the memory of Susan Carol Bolack Sulier, L.P.N.
Nurses are often under-appreciated. Whether male or female, they are a special breed, worthy of our praise. I wrote this song in August of 2019 for a friend of mine who had lost his wife to cancer the year before. I didn't receive any money... I just wanted this song and lyric video to be a celebration of her life and a “thank you” to all nurses to show how much we appreciate what they do and to encourage others to enter this noble field.
Recording was complete just before the COVID-19 pandemic and the song and video were released as nurses were being called on to treat an increasing number of patients. Though the pandemic will wane, nurses will carry on being "Angels in White" to all of the souls in need. Matt Fitzgibbons

Matt Fitzgibbons's Backstory
In the summer of 2019, an older friend asked me if
I could record a version of one of his wife’s favorite songs in
her memory. She had lost her battle with cancer the year before.
As I listened to his stories about her life and some of her
experiences as a nurse, an idea for a song occurred to me that
could celebrate not only her, but all nurses.
I had not played
music for almost two years after having been in an car accident,
and hesitated as I reached for my guitar to play what I had
heard in my mind. I realized that this was the best reason I
could imagine for finally playing music and picked it up. A half
hour later, “Angels in White” was complete as a song.
Recording
progressed as time allowed over the next several months with the
mixing complete just as the Covid-19 pandemic began to unfold.
Too many synchronicities occurred during the creation of this
song to count and they all served to reinforce my belief that
this song was a gift to me to give.
