Steven NewtonSteven Newton is a 25-year law enforcement veteran and a Marine/Navy veteran. He served with the 3rd Battalion, 24th Marines, 4th Marine Division. With the Navy, he was with NAVACTS-UK-318 and was called back to active duty for the first Desert Storm.

He is the Nominee of various military and law enforcement service medals and citation including the George Washington Medal, National Patriotism Award, Distinguished Service Award, and
Jay Edgar Hoover Award.

Now retired and afflicted with Parkinson's disease, he continues to write articles for various law enforcement, military and veteran publications. He is also the author of the "Old Sergeant”,” Old Sergeant and Friends" and the “Old Sergeant Rides Again.

He still serves on the Advisory Board of the National Association of Chiefs of Police; serves as Director of the Law Enforcement Equipment Program; is also a proud member of American Legion Post 639; is a member at large with the Veterans of Foreign Wars; and, is a supporter of the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance.

And while Steven Newton's military and law enforcement efforts are noble in themselves, his recognition in the Patriots Hall of Honor is due to his "patriotic" volunteerism . . . and none more so then the following...Patriots Hall of Honor badge sample

  • Steven Newton founded The Silver Star Families of America as he wanted to make a difference in the lives of wounded service members and veterans . . . by presenting a Silver Star Banner to be those wounded within the warzone from ALL wars. (see video below)

  • Steven Newton founded and maintains the Law Enforcement Equipment Program (LEEP), which serves as a connection between those with used law enforcement equipment and the Iraqi and Afghanistan Police Force that have little to no equipment.

Steven Newton has also received the following awards and recognition...

  • Department of Defense Exceptional Public Service Award by the Secretary of Defense
  • Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award
  • Presidential Medal of Freedom nominee
  • Presidential Citizens Award nominee
  • Lifetime Call to Service Award (part of the President's Volunteer Service Award program)
  • Legion of the Purple Heart from the American Police Hall of Fame
  • National American Legion's Police Officer of the Year nominee
