Rear Adm. Grace Hopper Remembered

This story pays tribute to the historic work of the late-Rear Adm. Grace Hopper (1906-1992), whose remarkable technological achievements included conceptualizing the idea of machine-independent programming languages, which led to one of the first modern programming languages, COBOL. The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Hopper (DDG-70) is also named for her.
