The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division
(NAWCWD) proved to 115
middle school boys that you can learn something on a
Saturday and have fun too. NAWCWD hosted the Young Engineers
and Scientists of Ridgecrest conference April 21, 2012 at its
China Lake site.
The event included 13 hands-on science- and
engineering-based workshops ranging from designing
parachutes to configuring a catapult launch. More than 50 NAWCWD volunteers worked the 3rd annual event aimed at
heightening awareness to the importance of science,
technology, engineering and math (STEM).
