May 12, 2016 - Marines with Maritime
Raid Force, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct an
air-inserted land-base raid on a combat town as part of the
MEU's field training exercise aboard Marine Corps Base Camp
Pendleton, California. During the raid, the
Marines inserted into the site via MV-22 Osprey and CH-53
Super Stallion aircraft and were tasked with retrieving a
simulated high-value target and ex-filtrating from the area
hastily. MEUEX serves as the first major exercise of the
11th MEU's pre-deployment training cycle as they work toward
their upcoming West Pacific 16-2 deployment.
