participate in NOLA Fleet Week, April 21- 29, 2015.
The purpose of Fleet Week in New Orleans is to showcase the
strength and capabilities of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine
Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, Canadian, and British service
members through tours, static displays and community
relations events, and to provide the public the opportunity
to meet and interact with them.
The ships involved in NOLA Fleet
Week 2015 are the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Cole (DDG 67) and USS James E. Williams (DDG 95), the Duke class British frigate HMS Lancaster, Coast Guard Reliance class cutter USCG Dauntless, and Canadian Iroquois class destroyer HMCS Athabaskan. The Marines of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit are aboard
the Wasp representing the full spectrum of sea power.
