Super typhoon Haiyan is one of the most devastating storms
to ever hit the Philippines. Marine Corps Forces Pacific
were the first responders for the U.S. Troops already on the
ground in the Asia-Pacific region were closest to the
affected areas in the Philippines and began mobilizing
equipment and supplies immediately to aid people in the
region. Communication in coordinating the necessary land and
sea assets required serious logistics to bring relief to
ravaged cities like Tacloban (tack-klow-bin). At Marine
Corps forces pacific headquarters in Hawaii a special team
came together to help coordinate and direct joint support on
the ground in the Philippines.
