Marine Father Carries Daughter's
Birthday Gift Throughout Afghanistan

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Anthony Ortiz, a California native and combat cameraman with Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Regional Command (Southwest) broke the mold when getting his daughter a birthday gift during his deployment to Afghanistan. Ortiz purchased a stuffed animal and took it with him on his missions throughout Helmand province. He posed for pictures with the teddy bear at various military installations before mailing the gift to his daughter in Manassas, Va., September 2013.
