Marine Forces Reserve units and personnel provide significant support for military funeral honors for our veterans. The Inspector -- Instructor and Reserve Site Support staffs, with augmentation from their Reserve Marines, performed 91 percent of the total funeral honors rendered by the Marine Corps during Calendar Year 2011 (15,366 of 16,943) ... with honors rendered for more than 16,000 Marine veterans during Calendar Year 2012. As with casualty assistance, Marine Forces Reserve places enormous emphasis on providing timely and professionally executed military funeral honors support.
