Angel Thunder 2017 provided
vital Combat Search and Rescue training to U.S. service members from
the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps along with
service members from partner nations, including Canada, France,
Italy and Poland.
Angel Thunder ensure units throughout the
Department of Defense have the opportunity to participate in
training events focused on combat search and rescue. The exercise
provides training to U.S. and foreign-partner personnel recovery
forces and helps to prepare them for future deployments. Due to the
dynamic range of the tactics used by U.S. adversaries, the exercise
continually evolves to combat those alterations in order for
participants to be better equipped to deal with them downrange.
The
U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command sponsors the exercise using a
variety of scenarios to simulate deployed conditions and
contingencies.
