September 25, 2013 - The Tuskegee airmen were men enlisted in the
Army Air Corps, stationed or trained at Tuskegee army air field from
1941-1946. They were in the military at a critical time period where
desegregation was occurring and blacks were allowed to become
pilots. These men fought two wars - one against a military enemy
force over-seas and another one against racism at home. Like many of
who are part of what is known as the greatest generation they are
passing away with the years.
Nick Tovo has a story of one who is
remembered not only for who he was to African Americans but who he
was to his country.
