Two
hunters found themselves huddled over a fire in the middle
of the woods, clinging to hope that help would arrive, after
their small propeller plane crash landed outside of
Talkeetna, Alaska in June 2013.
Bill Gough, the pilot
of the downed aircraft, and his friend were finally rescued
on July 1, 2013 by Alaska Air National Guardsmen with the
Alaska Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) under the
operational active-duty commander of the 11th Air Force ...
as it has done for 19 years ... saving 2,000 lives
during this period.
