Betty Strofhus, WASPs Veteran World War II
September 27, 2012 - Every generation has its heroes.
Occasionally those heroes have to fight to keep their
title. Betty Strofhus is one of those heroes. Betty
served as a Women's Airforce Service Pilot, known as
WASPs, during World War II. She was relieved from duty
when she and over a thousand other WASPs were disbanded
in December of 1944. Not one to back away from a fight,
Betty fought to make the WASP's story known to the
public so they could get the recognition they deserved
as the Army Airforce's first female pilots.
