Support Aviation Battalion and a Company from 2nd Assault
Helicopter Battalion conduct aerial gunnery exercise at Fort
Pickett, Virginia.
Even though aerial gunnery was the primary focus, the units
took advantage of the facilities at Fort Pickett to conduct
ranges using 9mm pistols up to MK19 grenade launchers,
conducted a night air assault with paratroopers from 1st
Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade
Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, and conducted medical
training with 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3BCT.
The units were able to work together as they do at their
home station of Fort Bragg, N.C. while located at Pickett.
