FOB Arin, Afghanistan (February 16, 2013) -
The
1-87 Infantry holds a formal ceremony on that many soldiers have been looking forward to since they joined the Army. The formal combat service patch ceremony is a tradition that dates back to
World War II.
The company proudly lines up and unit commanders or a leader
of the soldiers then place the 10th Mountain Division
insignia upon their right shoulder, signifying they have
served more than 30 days deployed with the unit.
