The Expert Infantry Badge is a measure of a Soldier's skills
and all testing is mission-focused and conducted under
realistic conditions ... And that is what over 800 Soldiers from
3rd SBCT, 2nd Infantry Division tried their best to achieve
through an arduous week in April 2013 at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Video segments:
Practicing on AT4 anti-tank weapon, M320 grenade launcher, and treating
a head wound.
Plotting
points for land navigation and completing tasks on the
Traffic Control Point (TCP) Lane of Expert Infantry Badge
testing. The TCP Lane is one of three lanes that comprise
the bulk of the EIB testing and includes boresighting an M4
rifle, preparing a range card, and calling for and adjusting
indirect fire.
Testing on tasks in the Patrol Lane of the Expert Infantry Badge. The
Patrol Lane is one of three lanes that comprise the bulk of
the EIB testing and includes operating an AT4 antitank
weapon, operating an M320 grenade launcher, and dressing a
head wound.
Ruck March and Badge Ceremony -
The ruck is the
culminating event after a week of testing covering numerous
events including three task lanes, a physical fitness test,
and day and night land navigation courses. Only 159 out of
the 800+ Soldiers earned
